cheaply made video games that give you small updates every 2-3 months isn't enough content.
Anime taking so long to get back is probably the main hold-up on Xenoverse 3 and any other future games like a DBFZ or Kakarot sequel.

Now that Super Hero is out, they should be ready to start working on the Moro Arc, right? Manga already got almost two whole arcs out, so it's not like they don't have anything to work with in terms of writing.

I just don't understand why they can't make an original story. They have so much content to work with. They could even use Heroes. I would actually welcome that more because so far most of Xenoverse's storylines revolve around sedating mindcontrolled characters. No original forms or new attacks, just a purple aura.

This isn't just a Dragon Ball problem, either. Most of these licensed games are just low budgeted virtual rehashes of the anime, and that would be alright if they were just working on 2nd rate anime, but Bandai has all the licenses to the industry's most popular IPs. Surely they deserve a little more passion than this.

DBFZ tried an original story and boy was that TRASH. :mjlol:

Tbh, they could do it like Soulcalibur 6 and have the custom character have their own story and have a separate canon main story. Get something for everyone. Xenoverse definitely could've used that approach.

XV1's beginning baited me so hard with that opening going through Goku's major battles and then I had to set my dude up for that bs. It's a cool approach for what they wanted to do, but they really didn't have the writing to pull it off. XV2 was even worse on that front.

I was just arguing with my friend about that, actually. I feel like that and Dragon Ball Legends both try to sell themselves as original stories, but the base games are really just Z with a little bit of DBSuper sprinkled in. FighterZ (Z), for example, just had you take on clones from DBZ in its base game. Had everyone not been wearing their DBS clothes I would have assumed it took place before Super.

Legends is no different. It goes from Raditz, to Vegeta, to Frieza, to Cell, to Buu just with different circumstances. In Legends' case, it really has no excuse not to add anything different like new forms or new moves.

Yeah a lot of people don't realize that humorously undercutting and shytting on his own work is like one of the pillars of Toriyama's comedy. He don't hold shyt sacred. Any time he can mock Dragon Ball, he'll do it :russ:
Ayo I have so m
ayo I have so many of your DBZ beat flips. I’m a huge fan
