I have finally finished watching the entire series. My backlog feels better now LOL.
Jiren is that strong. It was not that fair that he had 3 people go against him. With that being said, everything worked out and everyone including all universes ended up getting a happy ending.

Story wise, it’s no where near as good as the Sayian Saga, Namek saga, and android/ cell Saga. But it’s still enjoyable. Assuming you grew up on Z, it hits the sweet spot of nostalgia. I’ll also say that, after the first 2 arcs, there’s less filler and the fights are a bit more steam lined.
In terms of characters, if you’re a Gohan stan, you’re gonna be mad. If you’re a Goku fan, they erase all of his character growth of Z, he’s basically Team 4 star Goku. Vegeta has the most development. They build from his growth in the Buu arc really well.
To be honest Goku never had any character development. The super hero Goku is only in American dubs. Goku is meant to be an thoughtless idiot that only cares about fighting .

Super has Z type moments but it’s no Z. Too many inconsistencies with the power levels.

I see this a lot, but I think it really under sales his journey from DB to the end of Z. The biggest example is his refusal to kill his opponent. In Dragonball he was killing villains left and right, until he trained with Kami, and Kami taught to value life.
Or look at his demeanor in the Buu saga and how handled Trunks and Goten when he realized shyt was serious. Hell, during the fight against Kid Buu, the minute Gohan was revived, he was ready to teleport to earth to get Gohan to finish the job.
Yeah, has always been a pure hearted man-child, but his character was a lot more than “I wanna fight strong guys!!”

If the Future Trunks saga in Super doesn't give you DBZ feels, nothing in the series will. The TOP (tournament of power), IMO, is one of the greatest things the DB franchise has done since its inception.
