Yup, before i shut him off for trying to spoil shyt, the ign guy said a couple things that stood out

1. that he's a tactician rpg guy but nevertheless found the action rpg gameplay very good

2. said the main story was the least connected to past games out of any dragon age (came across as a criticism), but that the 7 companions all got mass effect 2 level companion quests on crack

Interpreted another way, the objectivity of someone new to dragon age/decoupled from the old games might give you a contrasting opinion on story quality compared to someone who can't look past decisions not getting carried over. Basically gotta read between the lines.

That's great to hear. I started DA with Inquisition, so the opinions of newcomers and Inquisition stan's holds more weight for me.
