I wouldn’t call pandering, brave. Smart move though, since the majority raising these at risk black boys are single Black mothers.Umar will eventually end up having a broader reach because his message of Pan Africanism is less divisive and more inclusive.
Plus he knows how to speak about Black woman’s frustration with the “Snow Bunny Crisis”
My daughter is a student at an HBCU and slightly on the feminist tip. But her and her friends love Umar, because he publicly has conversations about interracial dating that most brothers are only brave enough to have in private.
Umar gets Africa, the Islands, South America and young Black (non c00n) women on his team. He’s gonna have a solid diverse base of support that Tariq doesn’t.
