i need to get on the alkaline water wave

No you don't. There's not enough science to prove that it does what it claims. Save your money and stick to spring water. Alkaline water is another health gimmick. Before you jump on health trends research the science on it.

Broccoli and lettuce offer you no real value nutrionally.
Both are like the headfake of eating your vegetables.

There's more than one kind of lettuce. Romaine, Green, and Red Leaf have good nutritional value. That broccoli bs has already been debunked.

The "healthiest" vegan diet still requires supplemental vitamins to avoid a deficiency.

My point to @Thomas being: How is a diet labeled "healthy" if it doesn't provide nutrition requirements through food?

Veganism is religious zealotry bruh :manny:

They lack B12 and a few other things but they are a small % of the population and I'd guess that all these obese Americans probably have worse nutritional deficiencies.

I don't really rock with veganism except on the environmental factor. All that "we're not meant to eat meat" stuff is bullshyt. I think that a plant based diet with meat eaten in moderation is the best bet.

Cauliflower, broccoli, and lettuce full under what I have heard called polyflower.
I heard it means that they are just basically a source of water not a real vegetable.
I don't even eat the shyt anymore.
it offers no protein at all as well.
I am strict on greens and can spinach for a vegetable.
I have known this for at least fourteen fifteen years now.

So you don't eat broccoli because it's mostly water but you eat spinach? That's funny because spinach is 92% water while broccoli is 91%. You might as well scratch most fruits because they're mostly water. They do help with hydration which is why drinking 8 glasses of water a day is a myth. They also provide nutrients.

Broccoli does in fact have protein, more than most vegetables.

It has plenty of health benefits:

Broccoli contains a variety of vitamins and minerals.

The most abundant ones are listed below.

  • Vitamin C: An antioxidant, important for immune function and skin health (8). Half a cup of raw broccoli (45 grams) provides almost 70% of the recommended daily intake.
  • Vitamin K1: Broccoli contains high amounts of vitamin K1, which is important for blood clotting and may promote bone health (9, 10).
  • Folate (B9): Particularly important for pregnant women (11), folate is important for normal tissue growth and cell function (12).
  • Potassium: An essential mineral, beneficial for blood pressure control and preventing cardiovascular disease (13).
  • Manganese: This trace element is found in high amounts in whole grains, legumes, fruits and vegetables.
  • Iron: An essential mineral, which has many important functions in the body, such as the transport of oxygen in red blood cells.
Broccoli also contains numerous other vitamins and minerals, in smaller amounts.

In fact, it contains a little bit of almost everything we need.

What people don't realize is your body maintains an equilibrium no matter what. When it loses its equilibrium it becomes metabolic acidotic or alkalosis.

No such thing as your body becoming acidic without you having some acute medical issue going on. End of the day it's about eating well whether the food fall on either side

thought so

His statement was correct to the degree that lettuce, specifically iceberg, has low to no nutritional value. That is not applicable to lettuce like romaine, spring mixes and kale.
I don't know about broccoli or cauliflower as I have always thought they were healthy, high in fiber & antioxidants...
