But they’ll be cannon fodder for some opps with whom they’re beefing over a block owned by cacs.

:francis:

This tired, out of touch, talking point. Only reason street cats beef cause of money or cause someone they know got killed. Ain't nobody banging over streets or blocks. This ain't the 80's. And I despise criminality and gang culture. However, I'm not ok with telling a specific class of black folk they need to be on the front lines, while some dudes who ain't never spent a day in the trenches wanna prop they feet up, no disrespect to Brother Khalid.

Soldiers have always carried out the orders of an educated civilian class with expertise in tactics. That’s been the norm in militaries throughout ancient and modern history. My point is it is better to sacrifice your life for the struggle of overturning white supremacy than street beef that only harms black people and helps maintain our second class status in a racial caste system.

A street dude is not a solider. There's a reason why you never saw the pocket thieves of Rome take up arms and fight on behalf of the Roman empire. Nobody in the trenches dealing with the trauma and the day to day pain, whether they on the block or not, is trying to die for something they won't see an immediate benefit from. Either we all pitch in to sacrifice or we continue to be in the second class, and that's not solely on the fault of black people from the hood.

Talk, talk, talk, all motherfukkers do is talk at the end of the day

Wanna do something? Instead of watching speeches from dead men, from 30+ years ago, go out and support any Black person running for local election, don't you want a mayor, sherriff, water board head, education board head that looks like you? Go out and donate to your local churches weekend food bank program, give supplies to your city's back-to-school drive, etc.

Khallid was before my time, so I only known him thru videos, great speaker but it seems like all he was that, debate people on TV and march.

Truth. I got a little jaded in 2020 when black people had the world by the balls and went back in the house when the NBA came back

I remember the players having the owners terrified because of the rumors that they weren't going to play. Obama talked them nikkas into playing and they went out there and played. Revolution over

Khalid was a real one, but truth of the matter is for most black folk, that's all he came off as. However he has helped a lot of folks behind the scenes with college funds and the like, that was his crowd, college black people, but he could not come off like he spent all his days in the ivory tower which is why he had some crossover people to folks in the streets. However that only can go so far with folks, namely because most of the stuff he touched on black people already knew because to be quite frank, it isn't that deep from the jump. White people ain't shyt, and water is wet, now what? Folks want ideas and solutions, not rhetoric and speeches of stuff even the most illterate could put two and two together.

Those were two entirely separate issues. A labor dispute involving the NBA wouldn't have much effect on race solders operating through various counties and jurisdictions.

This thread is interesting…

Historically and globally the real warrior class that leads revolutions isn’t so straight forward as ‘street nikkas’ or ‘military trooper’

Look at Osama for example: educated and wealthy, the same class as a general or actual military leader. Sorta like our founding fathers here who were all wealthy land owners.

A revolution when you strip it down is just a realignment of power among the existing power players where the common man does the fighting on their behalf.

Do with that what you will.

Above the fray.
Khallid was before my time, so I only known him thru videos, great speaker but it seems like all he was that, debate people on TV and march.
The late Khalid Muhammad was about a lot more than talk. At the height of 90s street violence, he helped diffuse tension in several hot spots across the country by speaking directly to the ones pushing that line, and giving brothers an alternative to the streets.,
Saved countless lives. And he was out there when the streets were CRAZY.
The community outreach that happened under the Temples he headed as part of the NOI and then from his splinter group weren't done for publicity, so not well known.
Part of what helped to fund those activities was that lecture circuit that he went on. The National spotlight to him touring came when students in JERSEY refused to bow down to pressure, and fought to let him speak at an event at (then) Kean College.
Once he formed his own organization, he was openly advocating for Black men to train for eventual confrontation and revolution against the white militia groups that had formed. His group was prepared, and went into towns across the country where Black people were being terrorized after racial incidents, and protected them.
Those are just the things I was aware of.
