Confronting Black Jacobins
There's an order to them that makes the literature hit more. The 2 books I listed are among his most recent but they start the story. I haven't read "Thinking and Rethinking US history" yet but I'd probably put it at #3.I might just have to buy ALL his books.
Then from there jump into it all. The US colonies, Texas, Haiti, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, South Africa, and the pacific.

lol this is very true, I can’t give out details but there’s beef between scholars. Some of the ones I’ve heard can be simple ideological disagreements and some are personal.
You gotta think, some of these guys have inflated egos, some are fukkin their students while getting paid a good salary with all the perks of being perceived as an upstanding member of society. Pissing contests and general clashes are gonna happen.
