I swear all Dre had to do was make an album with modern sounding West Coast G-funk beats and everyone would have been happy but he had to overthink it and try to reinvent the wheel.

All he had to do was drop an album with Beats like this and rap with his normal voice and we would have had another classic.

This is how the album should have sounded. West Coast G Funk with a modern twist. Not ONE beat on Compton was anywhere even close to these beats and I challenge anyone of you to tell me otherwise :ehh:

Nahhh, he need to revamp his style like he's done over the years.

Just this time, it didn't work.

I want him to find his groove in a new sound, not just recreate The Chronic and 2001 vibes...

Wait so these are other producers' beats, and Dre added his own flavor to them and mixed them down ? This is why some of the beats are mid af (compared to "Dre status").

It does appear to me, that every song with Paak is decent to good. If he isn't involved the songs don't hit at all to me. Shoulda chopped this down to just them joints and put it out as a Paak project.

"Satisfaction" is so :trash:

"It's All On Me" might be my fav track I remember loving it on first listen too.

This is okay as a little Dre mixtape, but I don't blame him for not releasing shyt, I noticed my bar of him is so far unless it's something totally groundbreaking I view it as mid.

Definitely appreciating it more second time around.
