I don't see dudes in here suggesting that "commercial rap these days" has superiority over this album. They're judging it in accordance to Dre's past efforts.

Just as bad.... Dr. Dre had never repeated from anything he done previously before. NWA sounded nothing like The Chronic, The Chronic sounded nothing like 2001, 2001 sound nothing like Compton. This is catered and produced for MODERN heads and not outdated music done 15 years in the past. Appreciate it for what it is and not be stuck on nostalgia.

I can appreciate this album as Dre framing his legacy for the new generation. He didn't have to do this. As a longtime fan, he still managed to cross his t's and dot his i's. There was enough fan service on here to justify some of the riskier more awkward moments. Solid release and a good way for Dre to sign off.

This is what some of these older dudes (but younger than me) don't understand Dre has never been a slave to the times. He's a trend setter never a follower. I been following Dre since he was a part of the WCWC, my cousin used to Fed Ex me dubbed Dr Dre Mixtapes, and this was back in 84-85. Dre used to put out shyt that was hot out east and internationally and share it with West Coast peeps. He always had his finger on the pulse. The fact the he was able to make such a dope sounding soundscape using rappers from 3 different eras is extemely impressive and not something that a lot or producers can do on a singular effort.
