why would you get offended when people try to engage in a convo with you, and in the process attempt to get to know you....seriously, why on earth with that anger you? Are you mentally ill?
The majority of people do not have anything interesting to say most of the time especially asking a person who is not talking "why are you not talking?"

Also, why question his mental capacity of all things.

It's called being an introvert. It seems like most people who post on Internet forums would be introverted. I know I am. Small talk is BS. When somebody has something real to talk about, then I'll engage. But most people talk just to talk and it seems odd to them when you don't do the same.

Yup, but the bolded/underlined is exactly why a message board is the WRONG platform to objectively discuss this kind of topic. Most of us are introverts, of course we're gonna side with the T/S because we are like him, but we're not seeing how he reacts when people are conversing around him. Even as someone who doesn't like small talk, I don't see why you should react negatively to someone trying to interact with you. Maybe they think he's not having fun and are trying to bring him out of his shell, even if they are wrong, is his angry reaction really commensurate to their (presumably) friendly attempts?

Yeah that's why I just smile a lot. So even if I'm not being outgoing I appear friendly and that's good enough.

But what am I really smiling at? :scheme:
