your employer owes you the computer, and thats it. the rest is all EASILY offset by the positive tradeoffs. whose employer was buying them gas before 2019 :mindblown:

It's not up to public perception. Your company is ultimately going to dictate whether you RTO and in what capacity.

And even many of those considerations are based on the bottom line.
I'm not sure if this particular article is propaganda, and I kinda agree with OP that this reeks of some entitlement.

But from a larger picture, public perception can effect how a company treats and deals with its labor force. I feel like in the US, the media is usually slanted in favor of the corporations/businesses....and solidarity amongst working classes, especially when it comes to differing crafts is relatively weak.

If we had a more favorable public perception of the working class, but more importantly more solidarity and action...then it would directly effect what companies can and cannot dictate.

Do you get paid by the word or by the post? :lupe:

Some corps use free lunches (esp in expensive markets) as a fringe benefit during the recruitment process.

Do you not see the problem with breaching the contract and denying workers that benefit without equal compensation?

Its not workers fault if corps didn't specify that you had to be in office to receive a meal. :manny:
LMAO - most of these places tout free meals in the office, at their office cafeteria, etc. that's not a contract, it's clear that it's a added perk subject to change. i have never gotten a job offer that included or gone through an HR portal to sign up for free meals - lol @ breach

nah, they definitely owe you money for, or need to buy, people a proper desk & chair, and monitor if external monitors were provided in office. it's not on workers who were sent home to foot the bill for that, now for people getting hired now who choose to WFH over going to an open office, that gets a little murkier. but a lot of companies did give stipends to set up a home office in 2020 and 2021

Pure entitlement. I got a co-worker that lives a five minute walk to our office. This dude acts like they're imprisoning him by making him come in two days a week. Dude also complains that they're not giving us free food any more. Like fam you can just walk home for lunch if it's that deep :heh:
