Will Curry make the transition into being an elite PG this season?

He'll be great if he doesnt get injured but its a foregone conclusion that he'll get injured again so the point is moot brehs. I aint even hatin, but these types of injuries dont just stop happening if they already chronic.

sayin Curry gonna be healthy all the sudden is like sayin Oden will be. :yeshrug:

Lets see:

Greg Oden - 61 games in 2008 and 21 games in 2009
Stephen Curry - 80 games in 2009 and 74 games in 2010 and 26 games in 2011.

Oden =
Right now, his plan is to take off the entire 2012-13 season, move back to Columbus, take all the time he needs to rehab his knee back to full strength, and continue working toward the degree that he abandoned after one year at Ohio State. Once he feels ready, he plans to sign with an NBA team in 2013 and (hopefully) string together a few years of injury-free basketball.

Curry =
According to a ream statement, the operation on April 25 was an "exploratory procedure" that "revealed a stable ankle with no structural damage and consisted of cleaning out loose debris and scar tissue." Curry's surgeon said his ankle is healthy and is strong as possible, and believes no reason as to why it can't be 100% again.

WRONG. Try again.

Why is he no where close to being an elite PG in the league?

First off I'm a warriors fan, but the only thing elite he can do is shoot. He's not an elite ball handler, he doesn't have elite vision, he doesn't have elite passing, he's not great at making plays for others either. @IceCold had the perfect assessment. Unless he shows otherwise he's an above average PG. If he stays healthy his entire career, he'll have some all-star appearances here and there.

He is an elite passer bruh. I've seen every nba game he's played and dude can pass as good as anybody not named Nash or Rondo. Youtube Stephen Curry pass and you'll see. He's never had the chance to be a primary ballhandler because Monta brung the ball up the floor half the time.

I can't say he's an elite passer until he gets rid of that underhand pass bullshyt. If you've seen every game you know exactly wtf I'm talking about.

He's averaging 6 assists in his career; he averaged 6 last year splitting play-making duties with Ellis (who also averaged 6 at GS last season) - he's got the keys now, so his usage and APG should go up. I'd say he's looking at around 8, give or take. In order for him to be elite, he doesn't need to be elite in all those categories, it's how he balances them all out and incorporates them into the offense. He's already got great passing, vision and ball-handling ability. He's one of, if not the best PG at spreading the floor; great in swing-ball situations/curling-out. He doesn't need to be effective with the ball in his hands all the time and has a great-understanding of where shooters need to be positioned on the floor due to actual-experience. He's arguably the best shooter at his position (+ the league) - which opens up EVERYTHING, the offense will have x-less % of being stagnant and losing its momentum/fluidness; defenses won't have the luxury of over-compensating on P&R/hedges/outlets/RTTR/cut situations etc etc. He basically breaks the 4on5/help-defender schemes that defenses implement on teams that have incompetent shooter(s) at the 1.

With usage-limitations and injuries, he hasn't developed the awareness and consistency to work and break-down half-court defense-situations, to where he needs to be at an elite level - this season (if he stays healthy) I can see him getting over that hill.
