He'll be alright since it works with his background.

I will continue to point out (as I have in the past) that it seems that the folks whose names get shortened don't get over the top often, especially when considering the "newer era" guys.

Kevin Owens: Universal Champion.
Seth Rollins: Double Champion
Roman Reigns: Double Champion
Dean Ambrose World Champion
Finn Balor: Universal Champion
Bray Wyatt: Double Champion
Braun Strowman: Universal Champion

Elias lost his full name and will probably never sniff a World title program. Same with Andrade.

If Otis was still Otis Dozovic, he'd probably still have his briefcase right now.

Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura are probably in better shape than Cesaro.

Almost definitely happened so people who might try and look him up online have a harder time finding out about the lawsuit he and WWE are facing from his accuser. Vince took Apollo Crews' last name because of a mass shooter with a similar name; no way he isn't doing weird shyt like this because of that case. Probably get his first name back a month or two after it gets sorted out - assuming it is tossed out. If they are made to pay, he gonna for sure be 'Matt Riddle' again...on his EDD forms

This exact same thread was made for Cesaro, Neville, Ali and Rusev.

Weird at first but you get used to it :manny:
Don't forget Murphy. Which is terrible btw, should have kept the Buddy part because Murphy on it's own just sounds weird asf to me

I'm glad they went back to saying Mustafa Ali, could never get down with just Ali.

As noted, WWE dropped "Matt" from Matt Riddle's ring name. The decision was reportedly made by WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon on Thursday, and his profile and the WWE roster have been updated to reflect the change.

WWE reportedly made the decision to drop the first name because they wanted to avoid having people google "Matt Riddle" and see the details of Candy Cartwright's (Samantha Tavel) lawsuit against Riddle, WWE, and EVOLVE, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
