American prestige would drop through the floor if he followed through with even one of these threats.

We abetted a genocide and re-elected Trump twice, any prestige America had is long gone :heh:

At this point I don't even care though, just gonna stack my chips and let white people sort it out :yeshrug: if they insist on voting for regressive, buffoonish idiots due to 'cism then they can deal with the consequences.

If Trump's actions cause some sort of conflict or war I'd highly suggest everybody that's not MAGA sit it out and let them handle it.

How big is Greenland really?

I get the strategy and economic importance.

Mothafukka really about to have them get down or lay down without breaking a sweat.

This life is absurd.
Largest island in the world with a population of 56,000. There’s literally nothing Denmark or the EU can do if we want to take ownership of it.

People should be morally outraged at this but the world is just reverting to what it’s always been. Great powers exerting their control over their spheres of influence and minor powers getting ran over as always. Trump is the front man for this but Europe would not be taking this serious if they didn’t believe the US national security establishment wasn’t supporting this as well.

I wonder which European country will be the first to start claiming land or a country in Africa.

@Vandelay what are the strategic and economic importance of him doing this?

Also, is Trump behaving like Alexander the Great by doing this?

I'm not saying I agree with it. This is the scammiest administration ever. Only supercedes his previous administration. People talked about Harding and the Teapot Dome Scandal for 80 years. We're gonna have the equivalent of once a month fukking around with Trump.

It's important strategically because of:
  • Water ways. North Atlantic/Arctic is getting to a point it won't freeze year round...infinitely cheaper to sail through the North Atlantic/Arctic to get to Europe/Russia/East Asia through the Atlantic than the Pacific.
  • Force projection. Military bases on Greenland who can react to Russia/China way quicker than they can to us, and it's low population so if an adversary blows it up, little loss of life. We already have a VHF tower there for missile early warnings. It's not surprising the want for the island...I'm sure it's not even Trump's idea.
  • Minerals/rare earth's. Greenland is seemingly untapped. They're an agricultural economy that's probably a much richer country than they realize.
