I swear, since Trump was president the first time, Ive had more and more breaks from reality, and more existential thoughts, like "Is this really life?" "Are THIS many people really this stupid to vote for this man." I literally can't wrap my head around it. It's been 8 years and I still can't fathom his support at all.

What happens in countries like Russia and turkey is now happening here. You are seeing your democracy crumble into what Fareed Zakaria calls an illiberal democracy.

There might still be elections, but he will always win. His supporters will be vocal and he will boost them so it seems like the majority of the country fukks with him.

Watch what's happening in the rest of the world very carefully. The first illberal democracy to turn it around and go back to actually being a functional democracy will have given you the playbook for how to get out of this situation.
