stuck in the 90's nikkas, this ain't for you.
I just saw Sinners a second time, which I never done for ANY movie, so I had to keep it 100.
But I'm older enough to remember when My Wife and Kids went off the air, you ain't see some black folk doing much of nothing
Sure there was Boondocks (

), The Game (not for me), then Flavor of Love
Then there was ol' Tyler Perry who had the latter half of the decade on lock like Jordan in '92. TV and Movies. I got a soft spot for House of Payne and Meet The Browns.
But after awhile, it was slim pickings
I remember the days of being on various black myspace groups about black TV and movies
I remember the "why can't black people make something different!" and "why we gotta make the same stuff day in and day out" etc.
iykyk and I agreed
now in my opinion, it's night and day compared to back then
it ain't about "whose better, whose the goat, etc"
But there's a noticeable variety. And even better: choices.
There's all type of funny ass people on TikTok and Insta. There's even Tubi.
Not everything is gonna be for everyone, and that's ok
Happy Easter.
