You are talking about volunteering at a corporation or something. Nobody is talking about that We are talking about volunteering at soup kitchens and shyt. There are a lot of nonprofit organizations that are often centered around some kind of industry. NSBE is a good example. They do a lot of work in outreach to kids from elementary school up into the collegiate realm. Lot of industry heavy hitters in their ranks as well. They generally meet after hours. You have to pay to be a part of it. But there's a lot of value in it.

HE brought up coding and doing IT work for free. In my initial post I said I am cool with the type of volunteering you are talking about (social volunteering). Which is why I said OP is conflating the two.

Network on a job while getting paid. I work on a college campus around nothing but people your age. Sometimes you just need to listen to folks and maybe you won't be settling for semi-wins in life.

That kind of negates the point. Some employers hate when you network on their job for another one (encountered one like that) while on theirs. Volunteering and showing those people you volunteer with can open doors for freelancing and other opportunities.

Didn't see this part. I brought up multiple types of volunteering not just that. All I was doing was giving examples. In that same post, I stated volunteering for the low income folk and political affairs in your local community.

I finished pharmacy tech school. Passed the class and will be taking my cert exam a week and a half from today. I won't be spamming and being a pain on here like before.
