His work as the Kray twins alone invalidates the entire premise.
That may be so, but Denzel and Tom Hanks are virtually the same guy in most of their films. They would never be considered overrated. I think it boils down to how the part is written...and in some cases just being type-cast.
Hear me out.... im not saying he s a bad actor but is seems like in 90% of his roles he plays this intimidating brute who stares into a fixed point and cant move his head without moving the rest of his body.
i always fount it funny that ppl were calling him and fassbender the next deniro and pacino.
They re both in their 40s now and dont have a classic role to their name.
You can add LAWLESS, LOCKE, STAR TREK: NEMESIS, DUNKIRK, STUART, LONDON ROAD to the list of flicks were Hardy wasn't playing an "intimidating brute" type of character.
If you haven’t seen Locke, you can’t be making a thread like this.
shyt, he was the opposite of all this in Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy.
Yes. I don’t need to go through why since it’s already been handled but yes. Watch Locke. Watch rock n rolla. Watch layer cake. Then watch lawless. These are all wildly different performances. Whether you like the movies or the performances is different.
I forget about Locke sometimes. It’s a testament to his ability that I really watched a movie about a guy on a long drive for 2 hoursIvan Locke is wildly different to Bane and Bronson.
i thought it was 2 different dudes until i read this threadHis work as the Kray twins alone invalidates the entire premise.
