Years ago i finally came to the realization that in damn near every industry out there you have the same makeup of people that exist at the job you are working right now. You have people working IT jobs that dont give two shyts about doing the best job they can do, they're just there for the check and you also have people who go above and beyond who really want to make a difference for the company. Same shyt in sports. Just because a person is good at basketball doesnt mean he actually wants to compete and be the best, its just a check to them.

You gotta stop putting these people on a pedestal and realize they have more in common with a lot of everyday cats out here than you think.

Exactly. Unless the nikkas doing the criticizing are Dwight Shrute at their own jobs, don't be appalled that a ball player is just showing up to work to get payed. Can't be mad at a player for choosing the club over extra minutes at the gym if your'e posting here when there's stuff that needs to be done at your own job..... I understand being disgusted if he's on the team you root for though:to:

Damn i thought this b*stard was going to take Kobe place in terms of entertainment/skill value on the court. I really wanted homie to be a superstar. But the combo of being mis-used and injuries and lack of drive, and there you have it.

Yup, & it usually starts with the media lionizing dudes to the naive & gullible kids who are watching, no different than cigarette companies subliminally targeting underaged smokers. Sure there's grown ass men who still buy into the pedestals built for these cats (as pathetic as that is) but man, once they get a kid believing these athletes are better than the rest of us and that the teams they root for are there to create a family atmosphere within the city they reside in, it's cash city for the next 20 or so years.

Then that young sports fan grows up, sheds the naivete & discovers a lot more to life than watching other people play a sport you love. Then the leagues and their media partners just sink their teeth into another generation of youth.

Dude had the skillset to be an elite player, but he lacks the passion and the drive. He'll be a backup the rest of his career.

OJ seemed to have lost the desire to be great in the league and is just content it seems just saying he is a part of the NBA. Dude should be one of the best shooting guards in the league. But I suppose once he got paid he said fukk it and didn't want to put in the work to get to that level.

Let your rookie year be far and away the best year of your career brehs.

Do we call it Tyreke Evans syndrome or OJ Mayo syndrome?

Actually, I guess it's Damon Stoudemire syndrome. :mjlol:

Can't agree with that he had many good years.... Never felt like he was just collecting a check

Yeah like I don't think Andrew Bynum gave a fukk about basketball like that.

nikka was just big and talented and could get paid off that shyt.
