Jaromir Jagr and Teamu Selanne are in their 40's and playing hockey at a high level still. (Both scored 50+ points in an 82 game season) and hockey is more physically demanding. It's very impressive that they've managed to continue their high level of play considering the fact that they've been in the NHL since the early 90s.
Physically demanding is relative, jumping all the time, running front and back indoors or like soccer players playing for a consecutive 90 minutes etc. Taking hits to the body is the least concern for long term injuries. Knees and shyt like that is the worst, that's why tennis probably is more "physically demanding" than hockey and players playing past their 20s in higher divisions being very rare. Obviously hockey has the thing where one hit can fukk you up instantly, but it's like saying that Nascar is the hardest sport since you can break 10 bones from one crash.
And really Jagr having 54 points will be like kobe avg 13 points 6 years from now with guaranteed playtime, if you wanna compare stats across sports.
It's just to check how many games dudes play per season, looking at great hockey players all play 70+ games per season most of the close to 80 or 82.
Just looking at random players...
