Jaromir Jagr and Teamu Selanne are in their 40's and playing hockey at a high level still. (Both scored 50+ points in an 82 game season) and hockey is more physically demanding. It's very impressive that they've managed to continue their high level of play considering the fact that they've been in the NHL since the early 90s.

Kobe is still more impressive though. He's still the main guy on the Lakers. Selanne and Jagr, while still good for old guys, are complimentary players at the moment.

At 33 and 34, Jagr scored 123 points and 96 points :manny: and he was the best player on the Rangers at the time.

He's 40 still playing at a high level in a more physically demanding sport.

Hell, Ray Lewis bout to come back from what was suppose to be a career ending injury and he was drafted the same year as Kobe. 1996 was a strong year.

that's more impressive to me given how much abuse nfl players do to their bodies. ray lewis is a freak

thats the same year mayweather became a professional boxer

Pac died in 96, the least we could get were some sports icons from that year. :obama:

I'm honestly amazed that Ray's lasted this long. You can't not fukk with this nikka at this point, I wanna see the Ravens win it just so him and Ed Reed can go out on top.

As of now the most PRODUCTIVE longetivity of any NBA player yes and still at a high level. Derek Jeter had a monster year last year at age 38, He's been with the Yanks since 95,shoot Mariano still a top 5 closer at 43.Jagr&Selane hold it down in hockey based on age&experience. In NFL Ray Lewis still hitting cats 16 years later and even tho kickers are ignored. Jason Hanson (the longest tenured football player with one team in the history of the NFL)been kicking field goals for the Lions since 1992 (Barry Sanders 4th year in the league) :krs:

Physically demanding is relative, jumping all the time, running front and back indoors or like soccer players playing for a consecutive 90 minutes etc. Taking hits to the body is the least concern for long term injuries. Knees and shyt like that is the worst, that's why tennis probably is more "physically demanding" than hockey and players playing past their 20s in higher divisions being very rare. Obviously hockey has the thing where one hit can fukk you up instantly, but it's like saying that Nascar is the hardest sport since you can break 10 bones from one crash.

And really Jagr having 54 points will be like kobe avg 13 points 6 years from now with guaranteed playtime, if you wanna compare stats across sports.

It's just to check how many games dudes play per season, looking at great hockey players all play 70+ games per season most of the close to 80 or 82.
Just looking at random players...
