That's exactly why Jay Z lost the war against Nas (based on popular opinion in the hip hop community, I know Jay fans will die thinkin he won)...
With all the ammunition against Nas, the best diss he could come up if is a song that sounds like "nah nah nah"...
"Super Ugly" had vulgar contact, but the delivery was not vile enough to carry the message...
In my opinion, a diss should be aggressive (hit em up) or patronizing (ether), it should not sound like some elementary school "nah nah nah" mock chanting...
That's just my opinion...

In my opinion, I think art should have many faces and interpretations...
Your music should always reflect your core values, but also things that you struggle with...
If you are life is black and white, then you are a pretty "basic" person as far philosophy and ideology is concerned...
I enjoy Jay-Z' music, but I noticed that his music is pretty much a cube...

Jay has plenty of faces it's just not as noticeable cause that's not what you see on the surface. He has his signature style and doesn't really stray from that often but that's what makes him Jay. Dudes isn't a perfect mc but I don't think that exist. He's not as multi-faceted as Nas or Pac but I doubt Nas could make the music Jay-Z makes without sounding forced, and I don't think Pac could deliver that type of music the laid back way Jay does. Jay also get's live on his singles, he knows when to turn it up and when to tone it down but I don't think he could pull of a DMX type of song.
