Does Cosby get enough credit for saving NBC in the late 80s and early 90s?

Just some observations I had about black TV show ratings of the past.

The Cosby Show and A Different World had 4 consecutive top 5 finishes together.

Black shows don't get enough credit for helping to carry NBC at one time. Also despite the hate it gets now Family Matters did very well.

I remember Hangin' with Mr. Cooper being popular, but the first season was far more popular than the others based on ratings. I wonder what caused the cast shakeup?

Family Matters and Fresh Prince did very well again that year.

Steve Harvey's show Me and the Boys only lasted one season although it did better then shows like Full House and Law and Order.

The most recent year I could find is 2019 and the closest things I could find to a black show was called God Friended Me.

Cheers wasn't even that big it's first few seasons. Neither was Family Ties.
