what do you mean? Cause you got guys who can play RB/Wr DE/LB S/CB. the game is more pass heavy now. there are more systems in football nowadays that evolved from your basic football schemes and formations.
so what exactly do you mean by evolve?

passing offenses have tremendously evolved over the years with all the different formations, screens, rb's out of the backfield, and even read options.

1980's NFL football is a lot different than the stuff you see now.

if we start talking about college football than there's WAY more progressive stuff happening now than the 70's

fixed

the game is so much different from that era where most of the top teams still had a running option offense.

Shoot, the SEC has exploded from what it was in the 90s. Florida and Tennessee were the only two good passing schools in the 90s, now they can all pass (except South Carolina).

Damn some of you nyggas are flat out either too dumb or too smart (thinking too much) about something thats simple as fukk and completely one sided in this question.

If the TS is actually talking about the sport evolving visually (meaning player evolution and how it looks visually) then its Basketball bar none. Todays game looks completely different than it did back in the day. I mean damn, in the late 70's/early 80's players literally patted the ball around the court, im talking simple ass dribble moves thats somewhat hard to stomach now a days. Remember the simple ass front stiff dribble to the right and back to the left corssover that nyggas used to do, a nygga could not get past anyone in todays league with these athletic ass nyggas if they were doing that throwback shyt. There is nyggas 6'10 pulling this shyt off nowadays, yall nyggas gotta be crazy even mentioning football in this comparison, it aint close.

The new athleticism alone helps the skill level i.e. fadeaways, reverse layups, dunks, absorbing contact, crossover, etc. Got 6'10'+ players handing the rock:damn:

This generation focused more on vert, core, and speed than the previous. Bird and Magic said they rarely hit the weights and all they did was work on their skills

I think so

Part of it has to do with the nature of the sport

Ballers can practise 24/7 in pick up games

These places are where all the nba players hone their skills and bring creativity/orignality to the big leagues

a bit harde to do with football

The game of basketball has definitely evolved more. But the actual athletes in football have probably evolved much faster than basketball...

In 1970, only one N.F.L. player weighed as much as 300 pounds, according to a survey conducted by The Associated Press. That number has expanded like players’ waistlines from three 300-pounders in 1980 to 94 in 1990, 301 in 2000, 394 in 2009 and 532 as training camps began in 2010.

Football players are constantly stretching the limits of the human body with the combo of size/speed/strength. Plenty NBA greats had the skills to compete in the NBA today. Great NFL players from 20-30 years ago wouldnt even get a tryout today cuz they are physically not in the same league...

^^^somebody who knows how to read. Maybe there's hope for the Detroit educational system after all :manny: And yeah DetroitEWarren, I feel the same way, an analogy would be a 6'5" RB running a 4.2 who can split out like a WR, run the ball like back, and line up at TE. The way the versatility, size, and speed of the NBA players have evolved is something else :wow:
