its to the point where im expecting his son to make it to the league, or atleast a division 1 school. he wont have some coach trying to make him into a bargnani, hopefully he isnt blessed with wilts height and can become a future beast.
i have no interest in having children so in the future if funds are needed for sneakers or a camp, let me know. this way in the future i can watch on tv and act like i had something to do with that
I'm hoping my son continues his growth, he's still in the 96th percentile for height and weight in his age grouping. Plus I have nephews and they're all tall too, I just hope they don't end up like me....6"1 at the end of 7th grade, and only growing one inch after, game of a PF/C in the body of a linebacker I got everything mapped out if they like basketball -
1. Let them all play soccer for coordination and basics of footwork.
2. Only speak highly of post players so they realize their father/Uncle respects that type of game.
3. Show them footage of the Lords of the post Hakeem, Duncan, McHale, KAJ, Wilt, Diesel and the one faceup frontcourt player worthy of respect and admiration Chuck.
4. Develop all around skills, and if it's apparent one of them grows to be 6"7 or better teach him the ways of Pete Newell (RIP to the professor of post)
5. I will play them as physical as possible so they never back down from bigger people, ever.
6. Mikan drills and jump hooks, fakes, counters, step throughs, reverse pivots and up and unders will all earn them $10 per move that I see during a game.
7. Everything is built off the hookshot, they will learn it with either hand, or else I won't love them :Playahata:
All the great post players had active fathers in their lives, raise ya kids right and guide them to the post fellas A big man that wants to shoot 3s just didn't have a worthwhile father in their life.
