Does anyone else have the urge to leave and live somewhere overseas?

I’m not going to lie man I’m tired of living in the US and it don’t matter if I move 6 hours away or 24 hours away shyt is still the same everywhere. I have this strong urge to pack up and live somewhere for 6 months to two years. I’m thinking either Caribbean, Australia or South east Asia.

This feeling normally means you arent working hard enough in life to have a stake in your home neighborhood or alternatively this can also mean you are running away from something.

In my travels abroad , i routinely run into crehs and brehs who do stuff like this longterm and the common denominator with them is that their lives are a mess in their home countries. Its not healthy.

Nothing wrong with a few weeks vacation, but that pack up and leave wave is unhealthy.

ya…thinking I’d like to do it when I hit 50…realistically it’d have to be any of the islands close to the US…leaning toward DR or possibly PR, VI…the primary concern would be hurricanes but maybe I can just stay in the states for a while during hurricane season

It’s also boredom. These cats have an issue being in one place. It’s really a sickness. And I feel bad for them. But it usually takes a traumatic event happening to them before they learn to sit their asses down and be family men.

i feel you on that. i'm in florida and of course shyt just gets worse and worse. have definitely considered it. i hear people talk bout how places like mexico, colombia, DR, and bunch of others are so cheap. and the rest of the world is practically caught up to the US as far as standards of living go. I go on tiktok and people from all over got the same shyt we got over here basically. companies have been expanding overseas for years. not to mention the number of people having moved overseas. lower healthcare costs, housing, everything. can prolly build a nice ass mansion somewhere for the price of a small broken down house in this country. money can go a long way overseas if done right.

As someone who's been working remote for the last 4 years and could afford to live pretty much anywhere, I've thought about it but my experience has been, nikkas get treated even worse outside of the US. Now some of it is common sense like that brehette getting ran out of Belarus but a lot of it isn't because you only see things as a tourist first so unless you already got connections, you may not even know better.

My childhood friend got roots in Jamaica and was trying to get me to buy/build a mansion on the island but his family out there was like "Nah, unless you already live here AND got the money and juice to deal with the politics at multiple levels then you'll just get taken for, with nothing to show for it"

I want it to be different...I remember Ghana trying to encourage AAs to come over but didn't hear much after that. Ideally, I'd love to setup shop somewhere in my 50s and teach my fellow brehs a thing or two about this tech shyt so I'm not giving up but it ain't as straightforward as just "can you afford the cost of living?"
