does anyone appreciate godfather pt. 3 now

The good: it's a well made film, for the most part.

Andy Garcia does well.

Pacino does well as the older Michael but he's so far removed from the Michael we know, that it just isn't the same.

Tom Hagens replacement is a terrible casting.

Sophia Coppola is terrible.

Joe Magetena is bad too, acting wise.

The death scenes were stupid too. The entire helicopter ambush was stupid.

The wacking of Joey Zaza was dumb too.

Priest is killed by a pair of eye glasses

Coppola dropped the ball as George Lucas would 10 yrs later.

You mean the scene with Michael in the chair or his daughter getting shot? His daughter imo ruined the whole movie with her non-acting ass. Taken by itself it was a good movie but as the 3rd GF movie it was a misstep.

There was the making or bones of a classic movie in there.
Casting his daughter, writing hagen out the script beause they didn't want to pay Duvall was , incest storyline, casting andy garcia, and too much emphasis on the vatican shyt hurt the movie.

Al Pacino and the old timers in the movie actually held it down though and delivered perfect character arcs

Its not corny but somewhere during that movie Al Pacino forgot how to act without yelling and chewing the scenery..... Its weird to see his earlier movies like Godfather 1 and see him act with nuisance and talk softly as a young Michael and then see Pacino in 3 where Michael is now this blustering mob boss

I forgot this. Didnt they kill this guy off in godfather 2 anyway. I know it was cut from original film but its in the godfather epic which combined 1 n 2 with the hour of cut footage. Weird choice

well tbh he's older, alone and sick with diabetes so it's not to far off that he would of lost a lot of the cool, calm and control he had over the years
