Tenkaichi killed the series for me, Budokai 3 was the goat

If they make a sequel to this
I would put it above Tenkaichi, but until then..

Honestly, Infinite worlds was too gimmicky for its own good, lots of good ideas but it adopted the simplified buttons that Tenkaichi introduced

Also, the story mode had too much extra mini games rather than following how D3 set the stage with DU.

Also ima keep it real, who gives a shyt if bro sampled a bunch of tracks from other things.

The Budokai soundtrack goes hard as fukk. :banderas:

This will always be the Goku vs Frieza Namek theme to me :blessed:

The music in the new Tenkaichi game is straight butt :mjlol:

I can’t reason with you lol the theme in your posts is “Tenkaichi is trash”, when its the most popular series in the line of DBZ games.
So you’re arguing from a minority perspective.
(Im more comfortable on the sticks playing Budokai then Tenkaichi)

Yes:salute:

Had a lot of time spent with it, but we are definitely in the minority :francis:
Doesn't make sense to me, you would think the FGC would've supported Budokai over tenkaichi. Budokai had some cheese but I do not understand how Tenkaichi could ever be taken serious in a tournament setting.

Guess the casuals just looking to have a good time are to blame, it is what it is

I'm talking about the ones that played like a classic fighting game ie MK and Street Fighter but had game mechanics that made it unique and especially DBZ. I think there were 3, and the last one came out after the first Tenkaichi if memory serves me correct.

Even as a kid I thought Tenkaichi was nerdy as fukk. Flying around an open arena in a fighting game, having to chase nikkas down in the air when you supposed to be fighting and sht. I know my opinion is in the minority or else they would've kept making the originals instead of this Tenkaichi bullshyt, but man I would pay a large sum of money to get a modernized version of this kinda shyt

No joke this and Rival Schools are the only fighting games I've ever enjoyed anywhere near as much as the GOAT mortal kombat

I thought I was the ONLY one trippin about Budokai 3 being peak dragonball z game of all time. :hubie:

I remember it like it was yesterday. When the game first game out, we had a neighborhood kid who would steal games from Walmart. I was with him and some other kids at the time. Dude was smooth with it too, I had no idea how and when he did it, but he picked out that game of all the games, Budokai 3. We got back to the neighborhood and he just handed it to me.:gladbron: He didn't have a PS2, but I did. When I put that game disc in, my life changed forever.:whoo: He could of just tossed it or pick any other game at the store, but nah, it was one of best summers ever during that time. I still got it till this day. Still works too.:wow:

I'll never forget bringing that game to the community center in 2010. Let's just say I had some close calls, but I was undefeated. Could nobody touch me in that game. :whew: My best character was Kid Gohan.:youngsabo:

The OST is fukking legendary.:banderas:

We should take a moment to appreciate how good we were eating in the PS2 era.

Budokai 1 to 3
Tenkachi 1 to 3
GTA III, GTA Vice City, GTA San Andraes.
FF X, FF XII
DMC and DMC 3
MGS 2, MGS Snake Eater.

They didn't waste any time perfecting the formula. Nowadays, they'd call it a wrap at Budokai 1.
We were eating that whole gen when you really think about it :damn: :ahh: :wow:

Budokai was mid. Burst Limit and Infinite World is better, but Budokai fans never played them. Always bringing up Budokai when we talking about Tenkaichi to be different

They made the right decision to bury that shyt and create FighterZ :blessed:

Budokai 3 is arguably my personal favorite fighting game of all time.

Remember before I got a memory card for my ps2 I would keep it on all day and night just to continue unlocking everyone. Kept it on for 4 days straight :wow:
It was fukking madness Ps2s didn’t come with memory cards

I had to do the same thing for Tekken tag tournament

I like that style better personally, but I hated how the dragon rush concept made it nearly impossible to pull off attacks like special beam cannon and final flash or how you needed every transformation to take up a customization slot.

Still waiting for Microsoft to make the HD collection from the 360 backwards compatible :mjcry:

There was another DBZ fighting game on the PS2 called Super DBZ that was :wow: . Made by the fighting layer/Street Fighter Ex folks and some former capcom folks. The soundtrack was dope as hell. Super underrated ass game.

Budokai 3 will always be the GOAT DBZ game to me.

I got it for Christmas the year it came out and played the hell out of it. Great story mode with alternate story moments. Getting SS4. Cooler & Broly.

A game like Budokai 3 but with all the content would be an easy buy at full price.

I haven’t played Sparking Zero but I played a couple of the previous Tenkaichi games and could never really get into them.
