Besides the cast. I notice when I leave the theatre some people actually starring at the credits as they roll. Anyone in here stay to read them? And what exactly are ya'll reading them for? I'm not a big movie buff like most of the member in here, so let me know what you read the credits for if you do. Or are you just waiting to see if there'e any more movie after the credits?

:yeshrug: I often read the soundtrack credts at the end.
Yea I used to wait for the soundtrack credits whenever there was a dope song in the movie. Forgot about that breh. Good point. I hate that they put them all the way at the bottom though. Gotta wait for damm near all the credits to roll before they show the soundtrack credits..

I know some people will sit and read/watch out of respect for all of the people who work on the movie who don't get the shine. I know I've read them in movies before but not any marvel movies. Maybe I will just because I'm sitting there waiting for the coda and need something to do to past the time.

I've heard Kevin Smith and other filmmakers and film critics say they do it out of respect when they do or in Smith's case, it's because he might recognize a name or two of someone that he knows or who he's worked with since hollywood, in his words, is a small town.

But as a film geek, I'm normally aware of the geeky shyt beforehand like the director, the writer, the cinematographer, and depending on the director, the editor too

Yea I get doing it out of respect. I used to like listening to the score in it's entirety during the credits cause it would keep the high of the film with me after I turned it off.

You bring up another good point though. If someone doesn't follow who the cinematographers and editors are in films, and only the writers, directors and actors, can you still consider them a film buff?

Well see now you've started a whole new thread: What do you have to do to be considered a buff? (Pause) How deep into film do you have to be? How much do you have to know

I'm a sound editor so I like to see who/how many people made up the post production sound team.
Do you look for anything in particular? If it was a big group or just a few people? How many people usually make up post production?

Yeah I'm usually curious as to how big the team was. I don't really know sound designers/editors/mixers in the film/tv by name though so it's not like Im looking to see who did the work. So yeah it's more just to get an idea of what kind of size team it takes to do sound for each film.

I didn't use to, but I started going to screenings with creative types and they always do, so now I do.

I figure it's just a respect thing for the hard work everyone puts in from the director to the grip.

It's weird though, barely anybody talks, or even checks their phone, but I respect it.

Well I think you hit the nail on the head when you said it's out of respect. I know real film buffs will research all that stuff like cinematographers and editors and stuff. I personally don't which is why I can't consider myself a true film buff like most of you. Really I just wanted to know things that people look for in the credits and the differences in why.

And I give them props for that because the more I think about it, they should get their due. Same reason I think stunts should get their own category at the oscars.

I do always want to know who did the score if I liked it. A good score can make or break a movie
