Generally speaking, nobody wants to die alone or die without being acknowledged in terms of existence. Imagine a person who has little to no friends or relatives who are either dead themselves or lost contact with them a long time ago; it'd be a depressing moment to die without anyone there by your side or to not have anyone to speak remembrance of your existence.

Sadly, some people die, and nobody knows they're dead because of a lack of friends or family members. All are either old, have passed away, or lost contact. My mom and pop knew of somebody a long time ago when I and my siblings were kids who died and had no immediate family or friends; they were pretty much a prime example of a loner.

I mean, all jokes aside this is a new era we live in and this (and potential other) "virtual" communities are only virtual in the sense that we don't physically meet. But the interactions, running inside jokes, ongoing debates, "rivalries", slang, circulation of information etc...all of that is very real (albeit obviously different than physical life) and so this place has a lot of what constitutes a "community".
