Abortion is a major part of Eugenics. Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger, a Eugenicist, who's mission was to use abortion to reduce the non-white, the poor, and the "mentally inferior" populations.
You're right but so is sterilization?
I'm not for eugenics, and I understand the history of planned parenthood, i don't agree with it.. but I'm also not for controlling someone else's reproductive rights. especially when it has zero affect on my life. im a humanist.
How would you feel if someone tried forcing you to get a vasectomy?
This "women using abortions" as birth control stuff is such a small percentage, its hardly an issue. its a republican talking point they use to try and convince us there's hundreds of thousands, millions of women havin abortions once a year and ignore the necessarily evil (we allow abortions, and get the few who take advantage, or we don't and you actually have tons of women killing themselves by trying to perform back alley and home abortions)
What is comes down to, is sex education. People using the proper protection, but forcing women who take advantage of it to get sterilized isn't the proper way to go about things, imo. It will lead to a lot of discussion about who is and who isn't fit to have children. Then what? Will we have testing for iq levels, genetics, will the poor and middle class not be able to reproduce? whoever doesn't meet the proper requirements is forced to get their tubes tied or vasectomies?
I don't know about you, but a couple thousand women using abortions as a birth control has no bearing on my life, does not affect my rights, but forced sterilization because of that small percentage, definitely could.
