The article got me thinking...
If anyone has a reason to reject christianity it is black people.
Given the fact that it's relatively easy to sell black people on anything if marketed correctly, I wonder how close we are to a full on black atheist movement, which would have a lot of credibility and substance to stand on.
Imagine if someone as compelling as Pac came around and started rapping about the case for non belief. Would people latch onto it?
The closest thing to this happened in the late 90s when Erykah Badu, Wu-Tang, Rakim, and a lot of those east coast rappers had nikkas calling themselves God and had the 5% movement in full swing for a moment.
Imagine if a strong coalition of black atheists came around again. With twitter and all these social networks around to spread the knowledge, I think this is entirely feasible.
