Norbit is hilarious. But you have to have a certain type of sense of humor to find the humor in it. For Eddie to dress as a fat black woman shouldn’t have been shocking since he was two women in both Nutty Professor movies. Why was is shocking cause she was ghetto as hell but what about the women who do this anyway?? It’s frowned upon cause a man has to put on a dress to do it making cringeworthy that’s hes one of the GOATS still putting on drag for laughs? (Maybe.)
That said, Norbit has so many moments, it’s beyond Rasputita. It’s the other characters Eddie is portraying. okay maybe a pause at him putting on yellow face... (was that an issue with the movie at the time or even now?) but take in the rest of he cast outside of Eddie: Terry Crews, Katt Williams, Charlie Murphy, Marlon Wayans, Eddie Griffin, Cuba Gooding Jr, Thandie Newton... the storyline of an orphanage being converted into a titty bar... the elements are there. It’s all there when you are open to the entire thing. I wanna go home and watch it now.
