**WARNING*** IT'S A LONG ASS READ, SORRY ******
was he dodging The Great One??
I've never completely bought that shyt about his back being tore up i was reading Ric Flair's book a few days ago, and he said that he broke his back in THREE places in the infamous plane crash in 76' and was told by doctor's that he was never wrestle again....Flair was back wrestling again six months later
I don't know a whole lot about backs, but you mean to tell me a couple herniated discs kept that fakkit Shawn outta action for 4 years
I always believed that his retirement had more to do with him being a spiraling drug addict more than anything, and he needed time to try and get clean. It's very interesting to know that his retirement coincided with the Attitude Era taking off with Rock and Stone Cold, and he returned The same month Austin "took his ball and went home" and The Rock was only wrestling a couple months out of the year.
It's also interesting that several years ago The Rock started saying in interviews that he was completely done with wrestling and retired, but months after Michaels retired, Rock comes back and says that he is back and never leaving again
Also, The 7 years that he was away almost completely covers HBK's entire second stint in WWE. The only instances being the couple months in the summer of 02' when he returned for the Vengence 02' main event & the Summerslam main event with Brock, Then he was gone again for like 6 months and returned for a couple months as "Hollywood Rock" and then was gone for a year until Mania 20, then he was basically done besides some brief ppearances in the latter half of 04'.
That 4 year retirement i believe saved his life, he probably would've died if he kept going at the rate he was going. He missed out on the most profitable stint in WWE history
Is all this just a big coincidence?
