Republican politicians can't stand Trump either but they are pretty much being held hostage by his cult. They would be committing political career suicide going against Trump, UNLESS they start losing elections and the public outcry is overwhelmingly against him. Then they would possibly consider speaking out against him but still not a guarantee. A large majority of politicians don't have an integrity.

It's too early and they won't do anything. Trump is just too powerful at the moment. They don't care about no damn tariffs or any other issues, they only care about staying in power and not losing their seat. I remember the first time around when a lot of republicans started distancing themselves from Trump when they started noticing that he was a liability to their re-election campaign. It's going to be the same playbook this time around.

Some will. If these recent elections are any indication people are already starting to. In Florida heavy red districts saw a shift of 15 points towards Democrats even though they lost.
