You need to bump yours up.
I'll see if I can get you closer to the goal next week
It's cool. That was just for my birthday. I do a lot more in general/throughout the year. It's just nice to help people who need it. I would like to volunteer my time more...I usually just give money or gifts.

Every year around Christmas, my colleagues and I each get a shoebox and fill it with $50 of items (nailpolish, slippers, gift cards etc)...the boxes are collected and given to women at a local women's shelter. Usually, they're forgotten around this time of year...so it makes them feel nice that someone's thinking about them and gets them stuff especially for them/things that they'll like. The feedback is touching.

That's awesome.
I don't see too many of the other charities/volunteering you get involved in during the year. I guess that's more off FB or through work, but share some of them from time to time.
I'd love to help.

....I couldn't really be of help with the women's toiletries and nail polishes though

when its coming out of your own pocket, it counts man.

knowing your $$ is going to a charitable cause is one thing but when it goes to bullshyt for your family and you're never gonna see the $$ again, it makes you :sadcam:
If I'm counting the money I spend on my family, I'm the most charitable b*stard this side of Delaware, LOL

I just make random donations...so that's not anything I advertise. A few recent examples: my friend's nephew has autism and she participated in a run for autism - so I donated to support her. Other friend works for the Boys and Girls club and collects toys for them for the holidays...so I buy toys to give her for that. My other friend just helped organize a clothing drive through Save the Children and Unicef - the clothes go to Syrian refugees who are living in a refugee camp in Jordan...I gave her 2 big bags of clothes/blankets/shoes that my mom and I put together. Just random stuff like that - nothing extraordinary, but even little acts of kindness can make a difference.

I think I saw something about the Syrian refugees one, but I couldn't do anything with that.

I see what you mean.
I have people here big on the breast cancer thing so every year there's a walk sponsored by Revlon in NYC, I think.

ive volunteer a couple times to feed those in need.It makes me feel good to put a smile on people face. I've been wanting to get involved with a charity for a minute. Just they are so many damn swindlers and conniving people in my area. it one of my goals though.

Yeah I think that's what prohibits a lot of people from donating money.
They just can't be sure that most of the money goes to those who need it.

I've read some bad things about the Susan G Komen and NFL Breast Cancer charities.

I be contemplating about the brothers and sisters and africa alot to, i sent money (it was enough for a month according to them) didnt hear from them; no type of confirmation
