Its all about how u deal with people, im a bouncer at couple bars in brooklyn,9.5 out of 10 I usually talk people out of doin something stupid. The few times I had to give someone the beats it was pretty easy, if ur sober fighting drunk people isnt really that hard..

Did the bouncer thing a few times and dont recall ever being asked wether I had fighting skills of any sort......Once they saw the build and height and hear of the military background I was a shoe in. I had only one scuffle that turned into a brawl but I had a tons of help. Usually if u know how to talk u can get cooperation, even with a drunk and obnoxious crew. One thing me and this dude I was working with was if a person was taking to long to leave after being told repeatedly, my boy would just walk behind the sap and lift him up from the back and I would grab his feet and we'd both carry him out like a big baby. Did that a bunch of times and once did the Casino thing and opened the door with a dudes head.

If u are going to be a bouncer and its a real hot spot....U will get into confrontations.

I did this at the Copacabana on 34th street in Manhattan around 2002. The pay was bullsh*t. You made money from bribes. One bouncer wouldnt allow a group then that group goes to another bouncer and bribes them. You negotiate a price and if agreed you take the bribe and slide the crew thru the other side of the velvet rope. Usually you'd ask the bouncer who dismissed them first cuz a lot of the turn downs were really hustles......If he said its cool..u let them in and split the money between yourself and the one who turned them away. The person who hires you will tell u while he's interviewing you that if u get caught doing something like that you'l be fired...But everyopne did it anyway.

I've seen bouncers like 5ft tall..but I knew they knew how to fight just by how their face looked..since I used to box I can tell by the facial structure that they were good with their hands..

not all bouncers can fight

but a big part of it is "not being afraid to fight" if it comes to that...which eliminates about 95% of people. All in all they just need to "think they cant fight" to be able to give out commands in stress situations....think they can fight...and if they cant, then tough shyt

I seen a midget bouncer in DC :heh: no lie. Use to bounce at strip clubs then at bigger clubs. Much props to him tho. I could see him being the best nut puncher of all time (n.h)

If a bouncer throws a punch or assaults you the club becomes liable. No place is going to tell you to fight anyone. all you're allowed to do is grab and drag or wrestle to the ground....You just have to be intimidating enough that most people wont want to fight you. You should have other bouncers around so you should never have a 1on1 situation anyway.

but don't think everyone will go without a fight or be scared of you and on the other hand don't think everyone needs to be manhandled either.

This is tru. Clubs are at risk of being sued if a bouncer fuccs a patron up, even if the patron is at fault. Last year I bounced at this spot 1 night for one of my homies that opened up this club. He needed some big dudes to work security so I was cool. We had to kick a few MFs out for bein too rowdy and too drunk.

This cat didn't wana leave and he put up a fight and we had strong arm that nygga up outta there. The pay was cool that night and the bytches were on a nygga heavy. :obama:

I do think you have to know how to fight to be a bouncer, because MFs will get that liquid courage and will try to fight bouncers. Just because a dude is big and burly, it doesn't mean that he has hands. But, like someone said, talkn to people respecfully goes a long way and u can get people to cooperate. I've seen many bouncers on power trips talkin to people crazy and that int cool.

I have seen big 6'5" nyggaz get folded by cats a lot smaller than then that had quick hands.

I've been bouncing now for 7 years. Got contracted out to work special events and be personal security for b list celebrities while they were in town. If you're good you can do it for awhile and build a nice bank. I still get offers from bars and niteclubs in the area. I've had a gun pulled on me twice and shot at once. I've had more knives pulled on me then I can remember. I've been in fights with 7 dudes with nobody there to help. You need to know how to protect yourself. You should know how to fight.

Not everyone will leave when you sweet talk them and I like to think of myself as a good sweet talker. Your job is to protect the establishment. You're not protecting the place smashing someone's head in. You're now a liability. If they don't leave after telling them I always hit them with "this is a privately owned establishment. I've asked you to leave now by law you're trespassing." I say it loud enough were witnesses hear. Then I put my hands on them and remove them from the property. I'm protected by law to do that. If they come back after me I either hit him with a two piece or choke him out. Which ever is easiest for me because im now defending myself. Avoid going outside. Once you do that youre immediately on your own so keep your ego in check. You have to swallow your pride more times then not.

Develop a good relationship with the police. That's very important. If you wanna have more value to local clubs and bars get CPR training, use of force training, and safe serv certs.
