I let reviews influence whether I pay to see a movie in theater. But I may watch that movie in the future and I may like it. I loved the watchmen and it got shytted on by critics.

Reviews only sway me when a movie gets like 25% on RT. I wait for the majority of movies to drop on the net in 1080p before I check it out, so I can't be mad if I spend the time to watch it. I usually catch blockbuster movies like the Avengers or the Dark Knight Rises in theaters since they'll most likely be worth the price of admission.
For games, I hit up gametrailers mainly to see extended footage of it. Sometimes that will determine if I could see myself playin' it long term. Otherwise, I usually see what the buyers say. Buyers IMO hold more weight than a "professional" reviewer.
For movies, I just look at the star ratin' on IMDB. That combined with watchin' some of the trailer determines if I'm watchin'. The star ratin' is a must especially for horror movies. I learned the hard way a few times. Anything with 5 stars and under is usually trash. Black movies tend to get shytted on a lot on IMDB for some reason though, so I ain't lumpin' those in with the 5 and under thing

The hype around GTAIV was ridiculous. Way too many perfect review scores for a game that got boring quick.
GTA 4 is a great game. 
But what about fukking reviews in general and imdb in particular?
Avatar is a 8.0 movie? I remember that summer it got released. Trash bin status.
Also Revolver is 6.3 on imdb and it's a dope movie.

i NEVER let ANYONES opinion sway me to listen/play/watch anything. Soul Plane is one of my fav movies and that got shytted on by everyone. Kane & Lynch 2 wasnt reviewed very positively yet i enjoyed it immensely. fukk an opinion
