Last time i checked was back in 2012 and i was in the 8's but as of now I don't know and I don't care.

If I need credit to buy it, then I can't afford it, and I don't need it.

Hey bro this may sound crazy, but it will help you long term (As long as you are not a crazy shopper lol)

Sign up to more credit cards, its not about how much you owe to a credit card that kills your credit score.

Its about available credit. Example

Person 1 has
1 credit card, $5000 limit owes $3500, thats 70% of their max allowed

Person 2 has
5 credit cards with $5000 limits ($25,000 total) and owes $15,000, thats 60% of their max allowed

Even though person 2 owes a lot more, his credit score will reflect better because his owed vs allowed.

Not sure if you know this, but thats why I said get more credit cards, AND NEVER EVER close out a credit card, a credit card with a $0 balance only helps you. I have 10 cards, I literally cut up 8 of them don't even have access to them, they are just used to keep my %owed/allowed in check

No I feel you and that's true.

It's just 2 cards that I have a high balance.

But they also factor in length of credit history. .... so I don't wanna open too many

Only reason I want to use credit is for a home( it's average 620 or 650) last time I checked last year. My credit karma is "poor" though. Don't have any debt.

My credit score always drop around this time. Large purchases and inquiries for new department store cards. It will go back up in March once I pay off my charges.

doesnt make sense as most credit cards have an annual fee. So you continue to pay that fee on a card you're not using? :dwillhuh:

close it out if it has a yearly fee

I agree 100%, if your cards have yearly fee's you can close them, just pay attention to the details of the card because, Most cards (don't) have a yearly fee. A lot of AMEX and some gimmicky cards (say like a card that had a huge promotion going on, they sneak in a yearly fee)

Btw if you stay with them, if you call 9/10 times they will wave the fee after you are charged the fee, you can just call and say you are closing because of the fee. Most of the times they will credit it back.

I currently have 7 cards, 2 with a balance that i use on a month 2 month basis and 5 with no balance, only card I pay a fee on is my amex blue.

Umm yes.. a mortgage doesn't drop your score... unless your running reeeeeal close with that money in money out bar

Mortgages INCREASE scores. I don't have a mortgage and am wondering if there's any hope of breaking that 800 ceiling without one. I know of people who finished paying off their mortgage.. and their scores dropped substantially. :sadcam:
