Yep. a few years back my cousin was play acting like a weed selling jamaican don dada ....some mexican dudes broke into his house in the night to steal his stash\cash and he shot one guy dead on his doorstep....the rest scattered and ran. he did a few months(or maybe years?? can't remember) for the weed but wasn't charged with the murder. gotta love Texas gun laws :win:

My cousin- 9 years ago. Drunk driving. Went the wrong way down the highway, killed two state workers. She got 24 years (max). Mayor said they were making an example of her. Some could say she got it really hard (knowing people get a lot less time with similar or less offense), some say she deserves it because she took lives. Hard sentencing hearing to sit through.

Thoughts on the outcome? History- she had no prev record, was 21 for a month.
Lol, that ain't a justifiable body smh.

Yeah I think you misunderstood justifiable accident. It was all her fault. They didn't have to die and the people who did the same should've gotten the same amount of time as her :yeshrug:

Don't drink and drive, folks.

Edit: I guess I took 'accidental' because she doesn't remember a thing. Clearly, that is a gray area.
If it's accidental then it's not justifiable, it's accidental.

Either way, she drank and drive, any punishment other than death or life should be considered fair.

I completely agree that it was fair by law. As I stated before, I was the only one in my family who held this opinion, and I was most def the black sheep in that one.

I'll never understand how they held that position so strong when we had to listen to both the deceased mens families from grandchildren beyond- talk about how much my cousins """""mistake"""""" hurt them. Killed me. Makes me wonder about the soul of some...

Well, it's kind of hard to go against family, especially a young girl who's going to spend 24 years of her life in jail because of an unfortunate event; but it's better to be rational rather than rely on your feelings to drive your decision.
