Not taking opportunities presented to me in my youth as serious.

Not realizing that hard work trumps talent.

Missed on two great women who turned out to be even better wives.

:wow:

- Not staying up in the UK to finish University instead of allowing myself to get pulled back here.

- Not cuffing a few genuine chicks I had since I was too comfortable in my traveling/partying lifestyle and wasn't willing to make the sacrifice of getting serious and entertain starting a life and family.

- Not going away to Air Traffic Control school and having a career I could use damn near anywhere in the world because they wanted me to commit to atleast 10 years here which seemed like a prison sentence structure the time. I've been stuck here for just as long now in the same place.

- Not kicking it with my friend from College the last Saturday we all saw him and kicked it. We've been over this so much and I've had to painfully deduce that he woulda hung himself some other day even if we kicked it that last Saturday when he did himself in but.....the shyt haunts you the more you dwell on it.

- "Helping Family" with a chunk of my hustling/Savings that basically left me short of damn near 30K; money I had saved for College. While I'm making slow end roads in getting it back....I coulda already been up to 50K or so and invest in a Career or education path.

I have plenty regrets but the truth is I am who I am and would've likely done the same things knowing where they'd lead me.

Biggest ones:
  • Not returning to my Wall Street internship at 19. I could have been on track to get my Series 7 before I turned 20. I felt in over my head with the content and couldn't grasp it. The CEO of the firm said that I'm not expected to know everything, but I never took that advice. It greatly impacted my career. I work at a private investment firm now, but in the back office and don't make nearly the money I would have if I were a trader or advisor. It's a large reason why I am exploring leaving.
  • Ending friendships prematurely. It speaks for itself.
  • Not putting the full court press with this intern I worked with at the UN. We're the same age, but she was getting experience while studying at Columbia. We had good chemistry, so much so that people would give us looks in the office. After I left, we texted sparingly, but one awkward text prompted her to stop talking to me. She lives in DC now. She was a redhead PAWG lol.

I regret not being around people more when I was young.
I regret not hating people earlier.
I regret giving people too many chances when I was young.
I regret not formally joining the military, I could have been retiring by now instead of being a U.S. mercenary with no retirement plan.

I regret making fun of my brother's reading problems when we were kids.

It hurts my heart to think about it now...

Some folks say "I wouldn't change anything about my past.. It makes me who I am today"

fukk that. This is one area that I would change.

Not knowing what I know now, 10 yrs ago.
Listening to my mother's bad advice.
Other than that, Nothing. If it wasn't for the struggle and setbacks, I wouldn't be me.
Regret is a waste of time, you can't change anything, deal with the present and plan for the future.
