do you feel your intelligence is genetic or a product of your environment?

Half and Half.

I get alot of my intelligence from my parents and their guidance

But I also have certain perspectives that have been embedded in me from growing up in the hood and will always stick with me for the rest of my lfe

Nor do they have the incentive, given the nature of their surroundings.

Theres also an anti intellectual culture in the united states, it's even showcased in our media.

Both, but mostly genetics.

It's like physical gifts. Many of y'all could've been shooting with Kobe in the gym yet you still wasn't gonna make the league, yet on the other hand if Kobe didn't work at his craft (cultivation in an environment) he would not have reached the pinnacle that he has.

I honestly don't know. I was gonna say genetic but my sister and I are totally different. Im naturally smart/good at things and she has to study/try HARD to get the same things. The only difference is actually the surroundings we grew up in. So maybe a little of both

You do realize that these differences siblings exist when it comes to looks, athletics, diseases, etc. right?

Genetics aren't an absolute predetermination.

prosper any where on earth
You can have the "smart" genes, but if there's nothing in your environment to activate them, they're useless.

that's why we need to teach the youth first, to let them know they can become geniuses , instead of most of these h!tty education systems they have here in the USA, I bet all smart genes would be active, if all kids had their own home schooling or better enlightenment from some where private , then most of these public school systems

intelligence is in every soul but if you got this:drunk: message in your face to be considered fun, then your education first, then your a victim of the system trying to keep you dumb

Yes i understand that. Some of our genes are the same though. Im sure shes smart on her own but Her (school) environment is more reliant on books study techniques etc while mines was not. If the roles would have been reversed I would think we would have turned out different even though our genes would be the same as they are now, no?

Genetic.

It's the only way to explain people who grow up with all the "nurture" and still "fail" academically and those who grow up with no nurturing, yet achieve just as well.

im speaking on your own intelligence

mine has to be genetic. cuz nobody in my fam gave a damn about education when i was growin up. it's definitely not NURTURE for me. all i kept hearing was "you're tall, you gonna be a basketball player when you grow up?" :dwillhuh:

meanwhile i was coasting thru school and eventually got put in gifted classes. the rest is history.

my theory was proven when i met my half-brother and he was the same way. even tho we both grew up in the slums. SMH

Define "intelligence" here.
