When did tap water become evil?

I grew up in NYC and didn't know how good we had it with tap water until we moved upstate and had to deal with hard well water, then we moved again and it smelled like sulfur. You could smell it in the water and even clothing after getting washed. Municipal water in NYS is always good/great. It's when you get in the sticks and have to deal with well water that things get funky.

NYC water is the GOAT along with Great Lakes water.

NY tap is tasty. That being said, I sink it filtered these days.

I get ground water and have a water softner system I'm not drinking that shyt, I don't even use tap for my water pick. I keep at least 5 cases of water at all times.
