My first job when i was 15 was actually to collect shopping carts. IF all you returned them i wouldn't had that opportunity

The shopping cart test is really about the design and layout of the shopping cart return gates. than anything.

The more of these you have. the more people will return

The lazier you are with the placement of these, the lazier people will be with the returns.
I've been to grocery stores where you basically had to bring the cart all the way back inside the store in order to return it. Fukk that
I would just do my best to ensure its not going to roll into somebody elses car. like propping it up on the curb in that case

My responsible is to the other customers to not damage their cars.
Not to the stores employees to make sure they are organized. They get paid for that themselves

The Giant where I live has dumbass locking wheels on the shopping carts. The system don’t work so 90% of the time they lock before customers can even get to their cars… I leave them shíts wherever. I put the carts back at other stores most of the time though.

I always bring the cart back to its designated area.

Sometimes, if I'm able, I'll carry my bags out and leave the cart at the cart area at the entrance of the store.

Not knocking you, if you are happy doing that though. Hopefully it's at Costco (I've heard they have good benefits).
