Nah, all women were never housewives, you still had nurses, teachers, human service workers, and caregivers (ironically these positions are still dominated by women). And you also have those exceptional extraordinary women that can fully compete (Amelia Earhart, madame cj walker, Bessie Coleman).
The trick the bankers did was make ALL women think they were exceptional and they flooded the work place which depressed wages for 40 years and counting and led to perma inflation. At this point in the game, automation should have led to reduced work weeks and possibly universal income, but because expenses have far and away outpaced wages, you have people fighting tooth and nail for the few lucrative jobs scared to leave and the majority just doing busy work to afford frivolous things.
