In almost every major sport the coach or manager of the year goes to the guy who's team was expected to suck or struggle that surprisingly does well. Do you really agree with this though? I mean Phil Jackson had to break the all Time wins record in a season to win this award(and only one time in his career)

I mean mike brown won coach of the year. And if vinny del negro had the clippers at a top 2 seed he would've Either won it or been top 3 in the voting

I don't like how many of the awards are given actually. Isn't baseball the only sport where all awards are awarded after the season is over with?

it's the only sport that ANNOUNCES it after the season is over with. Every sport does the actual voting the day after the season ends.

@Street Knowledge It's tricky because let's say in Phil's case, he had such a wealth of talent, that he didn't have to do a lot to make that team do so well in the regular season. Some teams just are. Others you can attribute the success of that more towards the staff.

You can have the best record in the league and still not be an amazing coach. Ask Erik Spoelstra.
