This. I hate how emotional people get when AA's even consider the fact that some of our family members may be indigenous here and may have mixed with the enslaved west Africans. People Immediately get in their feelings " YOURE DENYING AFRICA!!!!" It's like damn slow down nobody is denying their blackness but it's foolish to run with everything we've been taught by or oppressors without considering that they lie about everything.

To be honest, we get defensive because we know a lot of that idealogy comes from a place of "We weren't no slaves...like the rest of yall"

Dog, my mama literally went to school next to slave castles. In Savannah ga you literally can do downtown and see the chambers slaves were stored after coming in at the ports.
