Greek yogurt and cranberry juice are helpful for that, especially around the time of menstruation. I had really horrible cramps in my teens to the point where I had to call my parents to pick me up from school on cue, at least once a month; but ever since I had my kids and started watching my diet, exercise and nutrition - much easier. Just like babies get diaper rash when they are exposed to skin irritants or reaction from things in the environment. I have real sensitive skin and my daughter is allergic to scents, so it's a real fine line trying to work out the right routine.
