Do we all agree that the Buu Saga sucked?

Easily the most saga of DBZ, even if it had a few good moments.


The main problem is that Buu just wasn't a very good villain. A giant pink blob that acts like a five-year-old?

-Absorbing people? Regenerating from any injury? Didn't Cell already do that?
-Gohan just flat out sucked in this saga and got completely gimped. Even after his supposed "mystic" powerup he still gets beaten in an episode or two and doesn't do anything the rest of the saga
-Trunks and Goten were annoying and Gotenks was even more annoying.
-Most of the supporting characters (Babidi, Dabura, Badidi's other henchmen whose names I can't remember, Supreme Kai, Elder Kai, etc.) were completely forgettable
-Let's not even mention that Great Saiyaman stuff
-Vegeta vs. Goku rematch could've been classic, but Goku was holding back so it's kind of meaningless
-Pretty much anybody that wasn't a Saiyan was useless. Even in the Cell Saga, Piccolo/Krillin/Tien got to do something.


So yeah, worst saga of the show.

Cell Saga>Frieza Saga>Saiyan Saga>>>Buu Saga


But that said it's still better than anything that happened in GT.

I agree, tho. It's the LESS THAN when compared to the other main arcs, but by no means did it suck.

The whole point of Gohan is for him to take over for Goku, but Goku was too popular.

it was awful, never would end, nerfed gohan completely and the series should ended with goku face down on the dirt after vegeta defeated him as majin vegeta. I'm sure goten would've had a rightful place as a knight in the house of Vegeta

Dabura shouldve been the main villain. He had the looks and everything. I knew it was gonna be trash once I saw buus bytch ass turn him into a cookie

I stopped watching during this Saga, it was too damn long. I barely made pass fat buu

the earlier sagas (saiyan saga and namek saga) were more story driven whereas the later sagas (cell saga and buu saga) were more character driven. they're a lot longer and a lot more drawn out, which in turn allowed for more character interaction and character development. the buu saga is just really, really long. and unlike the cell saga which is full of all sorts of twists and turns to keep things interesting... the buu saga is really just all about buu getting stronger and stronger and stronger.

but there were plenty of great things too, most importantly the introduction of goten and trunks. plus buu was a great villain. just an unstoppable force of destruction. no rhyme, no reason... just wants to kill. that's all it knows. kid buu is literally just a spoiled brat that wants to hurt and kill for the fun of it. pretty scary when no one is powerful enough to stop it, not even the gods of the universe.

and come on who really cares if krillin and the gang couldn't keep up with the saiyans towards the end. i think that's the point. krillin found life outside of fighting and training. he wasn't about that life no more. plus he couldn't keep up with their strength anyway.

the saiyans are the best aspect of the show anyway, aren't they?

too much stuff going on, almost all of it wasn't even interesting.

The worst part is all them new transformations and fusions just for Buu to get killed by an attack that never worked from Super Saiyan 1 Goku.

Honestly it got old when goku showed off SSJ3 and didnt kill buu right away. I wanted gotenka to finish buu off but we see how that went
