All I know is Kubrick is GOAT to me. Dude mastered so many styles and innovated so much. You can’t name filmmaker he ain’t influence.

After him it gets tough, but Quentin is prolly in my top 10, or just outside of it. He gets flack for taking from other old films but I don’t mind, I love when directors pay homage to older guys and Quentin does this to almost every great director from every genre. From blaxploitation, to spaghetti westerns, to samurai, to film Noir, to French New Wave....

Dude is clearly a film junkie/ savant and I respect that.

Oh and Paul Thomas Anderson is the best doing it in This era imo.

Him and the Cohen Brothers def make my top ten.

I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

Especially when, just like in sampling with music, you put a whole new generation on to a classic of they pay attention.

Tarintino will have a youngin in the VHS crates.
