conditioning is a broad ass term..different athletes condition for their specific sports...their conditioning programs favor their aspects of the THEIR sport...

I guarantee you that 95% of ufc fighters wont be able to run around 90 minutes like a soccer winger of high class can.

I also guarantee you a soccer player wont be able to retain his breath pattern and his mobility after a hard ass punch to their chin.

shiit, usain bolt can set records in sprints, but in marathons...not quite as good.

plus theyre running around flopping in a soft ass sport. Can we really call them athletes?

Just doing takedown drills will make you feel :flabbynsick: after 4mins. Trying to stuff a 180lb man trying to double leg you will wear you the fukk out.

I did BJJ for a year when i was stationed in Spain. shyt is no joke as far as conditioning goes. what helped me was, i was already in pretty good shape from running and lifting back then.


to attempt to hold a man down in a forward headlock while he's moving around tryna get out is no joke.

shyt will have you :flabbynsick: after a few minutes.

How the fukk would you know if you didn't try it? I tried that shyt for 1 1/2 years and I found it more demanding that boxing, partly because I trained for boxing for many years so it was easier to me.

pretty hard to compare, its like apples to oranges.

when you say conditioned you mean cardio? in that case, the avg ethiopian marathon runner is better conditioned than like 99.99% of the nba and nfl.

if you mean overall athletes in mma, theres some pure beasts. consider that most come from wrestling backgrounds, they are absolute animals.

the training regiment that goes into college wrestling is probably the most sadomasochistic and brutal sport there is. significantly harder training than college football.

Nah let them do 2 sets burpees fast as they can for 3 minutes with 30 seconds of rest in between and watch them be like:deadrose: That is, if they finish the FIRST round.

he's 5'8" 150 lbs... how can you compare his conditioning to a sport were the average weight is literally 100 lbs more than he weights?


they're extremely conditioned for what they do... it doesn't really compare to most other sports.
